Welcome Back Peggy
Peggy Noonan was an early drinker of the Hope and Change kool-aid, but seems to have finally come to her senses. In this column about the health care summit earlier in the week, she says the President has entered the "boorish phase" of his administration.
I first began to follow Noonan's writings around the time of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 as she did a wonderful job of capturing the emotions of a nation. Her terrific book, A Heart, A Cross and a Flag showed she really had a feel for how the people of our country and particularly the families of the victims were dealing with the attack. That was why it was so disappointing to see her become mesmerized by President Obama's Hope and Change mantra and begin pleading for us to 'just get along'. It's good to see that Peggy is back and she is absolutely right about our President's tendency towards condescending lectures of the American people.
